A steep section of caravan path down to the Mekong.
The most important crossing of the Mekong was between Shuizhai 水寨 and Shanyang 杉阳, where an iron suspension bridge crossed the Mekong. The last old bridge was swept away in a flood in the late 20th century, but a steep section of the path down from Shuizhai to the Mekong still exists, called Cloud Ladder Road 梯云古道.
