Yunnanyi is a historic village on the caravan trail from Kunming to Dali, it is also the place that was first named Yunnan. 

In the village a part of the old street still exists, with two small museums, one dedicated to the caravan time, the other to the Hump, the American war time effort to bring supplies into Free China. Yunnanyi had an important air field nearby, that is today barely discernable on the ground.
