The rapeseed flower begins at the end of February and goes into March in the Weishan region, giving a good excuse for a tourism promotion festival.
Over the years many places in Yunnan have developed festivals to attract tourists.
While many of these festivals have no historic background, they are a good opportunity to see elements of local culture.
The date and location is not certain, but the rapeseed flowering is usually best early March. It is likely that somewhere in the valley a tourism promotion event will happen (this might be the first weekend in March)
