Every year on the 25th day of the seventh lunar month the Mosuo who live around beautiful Lugu Lake bring their offerings to the mountain goddess.
From early morning on all around Lugu Lake and on the Yongning plain, the Mosuo get up and on their horses to the small temple on the western side of Lion Hill, the mountain overlooking Lugu Lake from the north. At various points on the way to the temple they bring their offerings to the local spirits. But once the dues are done at the temple, it is time for a good picnic and some dances.
