Just two kilometers north of Eryuan Town is Cibi Lake, a pretty water that is a source of the Erhai. The lake is divided into an inner and outer part, physically separated by an artificial dam.

On its southern end lies a set of developed hotsprings, the Dali Geothermal Park 大理地热国公园, and the inner part has been upgraded recently to provide recreational facilities. A road goes along the western shore to the pier 茈碧湖码头 where boats are for hire to cross to Liyuan, a pretty holiday village at the northern side of the lake. About one kilometer south of Liyuan, on the western side, lies the Dragon King Temple 龙王庙, site of a major Bai festival in late summer.

Travel Notes
