The bus transport situation in Kunming changed completely at the end of 2009: all previously used bus-terminals were closed or reassigned, and traffic directed to five new terminals close to the expressways. This has created major inconvenience for travellers, that will only be alleviated when the new metro system connects to the new bus terminals.
