Nuodeng is an ancient Bai salt producing village in Yunlong.
Nestled in a ravine with part of the village growing up the mountain slopes, Yunlong's Nuodeng village has a long history in salt production.
There are several salt wells in the vicinity, the most important next to the river.
Commercial salt production ceased in 1995, but since Nuodeng is turning into a tourism hotspot, artisanal salt production has resumed.
